From 23-24 September 2024, CreaSus brought together its project partners, including WestBIC, Fundación Banco Santander (Spain), the University of Bari (Italy), ENCATC – the European Network on Cultural Management and Policy (Belgium), Mosaic (Greece), and Zabala Innovation (Spain), for the second in-person General Assembly held in Bari, Italy. The meeting was hosted and organised by the University of Bari.
The Assembly featured focused discussions on the CreaSus Self-Assessment indicators, which are being developed to measure sustainability in CCSIs. These indicators will also guide efforts by providing actionable recommendations to support CCSIs in enhancing their sustainability practices. The team engaged in a comprehensive review of the social, environmental, and governance challenges specific to CCSIs, basing the indicators on the EU’s EFRAG model and adapting them to the sector’s needs. The discussion was enriched by feedback from Creative Europe Desk Puglia and Consorzio Teatro Pubblico Pugliese representatives, who offered valuable industry insights on the indicators developed to date.
Progress on the CreaSus platform was also addressed, with a representative from La Tempesta presenting early development drafts to participants. The platform will play a crucial role in CreaSus, hosting the self-assessment tool alongside resources such as a funding toolkit and business models, thereby providing CCSIs with accessible tools to drive sustainable growth. The platform will be linked to the CreaSus website, offering an integrated resource suite developed by the project team.
The meeting was instrumental in reviewing and discussing the project’s work plan and gaining further insight into upcoming deliverables. In this regard, representatives from all work packages shared progress updates and considerations for outputs, such as funding toolkits, sustainable transformation actions, and the CCSI participation process and pilots.
The Assembly concluded on an inspiring note, with all partners united in their commitment to driving impactful, sustainable change within the cultural and creative industries, looking forward to achieving the ambitious goals set for CreaSus together.
