Welcome to #CreaSusCommunity, our new feature where we will disclose the supporting organizations that decided to take part in the CreaSus project. What CCSIs are involved in the project? The first organization that we introduce is Inter Alia, a civic action non-profit organization active across education, youth work, culture and political engagement. They develop educational programmes, advocacy initiatives and cultural actions that promote social transformation and collective intelligence. They joined the CreaSus project to further embed sustainability into their mission and operations: with a focus on empowering young people, strengthening civic participation, and nurturing intercultural understanding, Inter Alia sees sustainability as a fundamental part of building a more inclusive and democratic Europe.
Sustainability as a Core Principle
For Inter Alia, sustainability is far more than an operational consideration—it is central to its identity and purpose. The organization approaches the ecological crisis as deeply linked to social justice, democratic participation, and cultural wellbeing. This holistic understanding shapes both its internal practices and its community-facing activities.
Environmentally responsible approaches are integrated across all aspects of its work: prioritising green mobility, choosing low-impact venues and suppliers, minimising waste, and using digital or reusable resources whenever possible. The organization also critically reflects on the environmental footprint of its travel and mobilities, taking steps to track and reduce impact.
Sustainability is embedded as a learning dimension as well. Through workshops, discussions and creative formats, Inter Alia encourages participants to explore concepts such as degrowth, ecofeminism and climate justice, while understanding the broader civic implications of ecological responsibility. The aim is to foster long-term awareness and responsible behaviour among youth, communities and partners.
Why CreaSus?
Inter Alia declared to have a shared vision with CreaSus: integrating sustainability meaningfully into the Cultural and Creative Sectors. The organization values our project for offering a structured, comprehensive framework that not only addresses environmental concerns but also supports institutional resilience, strategic development and alignment with socio-ecological transitions.
The project provides opportunities for knowledge exchange, exploration of innovative sustainability models, and collaboration with like-minded organizations. For Inter Alia, this is a chance to solidify sustainability as a core guiding principle rather than an isolated set of practices.
The added value of CreaSus
By participating in CreaSus, Inter Alia expects to strengthen its capacity to plan, implement and evaluate sustainability across environmental, social, economic and cultural dimensions. The organization anticipates gaining useful tools to refine internal policies and workflows, especially concerning green mobility, resource management and long-term planning.
